Get plucky at chicken fun day of bowls at Woodlands

On Friday night the sports club had their usual snowball draw but L Venter was not there to grab the winnings so it’s another carry over.

ON Wednesday Woodlands Bowling Club hosted the any pairs competition.

First session went to Arthur and Lyn Carlyle on a 2+14 and second session was won by Doug Moore and Rex Meyer on a 2+13.

The overall winners were Ken Thomas and George Harris on a 4+19. There were two money boards and the winners of the R40 were Ken Koch and Kurt Spack and the R20 winners were Dawn Spack and Gloria Rice. The meat raffle went to Ina Davies and the drawn prizes to skips Ina Davies and Colleen Blenner-Hassett and the leads, Johan Nel and Paula Osman.

On Saturday the club’s women trips final was played between Linda Hewer, Andy Cloete and Lynn Carlyle against Gloria Rice, David Lloyd and John Campbell with Gloria and her team the victors with a win of 22-10. The 100 club draw was done and the winners were Mike and Tracy Lotz. Join in on Saturday, 31 January for a chicken fun day. Names must be in by 1.30pm to start play at 2pm. If you don’t have bowls, the club will supply. All you need to have are flat shoes or go barefoot.

The swindle winners were Lana Lauderdale, Derek Botha, Moria Berry, Dave and Arlene Leuchars, Andy and Sandra Cox, Lyndon Smith and Andy Carstens.

The club also has two halls for hire – the main club hall for bigger functions and the tabs room for smaller functions. Call Linda Hewer on 082-724-6575 to make a booking. The kitchen is open to all non-members for a delicious meal cooked by Colin Dawson.
