Police recover car hijacked at mall

Montclair SAP management commends W/O Ramsamy for the speedy recovery of the vehicle.

A WOMAN was hijacked in Montclair Mall’s parking lot on Friday, 12 September at about 8pm.
Three men approached the woman and two of the hijackers forced her in to the back seat of her Toyota Verso and fled to Lamontville with her in the car.

The hijackers dropped her off at Gijima grounds in Lamontville. The Toyota Verso, which was fitted with a tracking system, was recovered at S Section Umlazi on Saturday, 13 September by W/O Tiger Ramsamy. “We are trying our best to arrest the hijackers and are increasing the number of patrols between 5pm and 10pm. We urge the community to call Montclair police if they see three men together looking suspicious. Montclair SAP management commends W/O Ramsamy for the speedy recovery of the vehicle,” said Montclair SAP spokesman, Lt Jojozi.
