Juveniles caught in Montclair hijack attempt

The minors appeared in juvenile court on Monday, 22 September.

Three minors were arrested for armed hijacking at the corner of Kenyon Howden Road and Roland Chapman Drive, Montclair at about 9pm on Monday, 15 September. Montclair SAP’s Cnst Malusi Ndlovu witnessed the crime.

The red Polo came to a stopped at the traffic lights and three men got out of another vehicle and pointed something at the driver of the Polo. “I realised the men were trying to hijack the car,” said Ndlovu. Police then chased after the hijackers. Ndlovu arrested one of the minors who ran north towards South Coast Road. The other two hijackers were arrested on South Coast Road. Police found one hijacker in possession of a 9mm pistol.

Montclair SAP’s Lt Jojozi said the three hijackers admitted to the hijacking and their involvement in other hijackings in the area.
