A MOTHER and son duo were arrested in Wentworth on Wednesday, 3 September for selling drugs.
At about 10am, Constables Roshan Singh and Graham Mei, headed by Lieutenant Lynton were told about a family allegedly dealing drugs in a flat in Dinapur Road. The trio found a man and woman in the identified flat. The man appeared to be trying to hide evidence as the police arrived.
The officers searched the man, aged 39, but found nothing. A search of a bedroom revealed 24 grey tablets suspected to be mandrax and one broken tablet and R12,960 in cash in gift bags. The man and his 62-year-old mother were arrested for possession of mandrax.
Police suspect the money, which was seized after the duo could not account for it, was gained through selling drugs.
