‘Anchors of society’ pampered for Women’s Day

SDCEA hosts woman for Women's Day.

THE South Durban Community Environmental Alliance (SDCEA) hosted local women for a day of inspiration and entertainment on Friday, 8 August in honour of Women’s Day.

The gathered women were treated to performances by the Tafta Revellers, Primrose Service Centre and PR Pather pupils and taught the value of appreciating themselves and helping others through motivational talks.

Merebank community activist and SDCEA steering committee member, Mrs Perumal spoke about the support women have for each other and encouraged them to always be there for each other and lend a helping hand. “It shouldn’t only be a special day that women get to be pampered, it should be every day,” she said.

The women were given an opportunity to interact and share stories of encouragement. “These are extraordinary women, who are anchors of families and society,” said SDCEA communication and project officer, Noluthando Mbeje.
