ECD staffers treated to wellness day

The Blue Roof Wellness Centre hosted the deserving ECD women in Wentworth.

IN the spirit of Women’s Day, Wentworth early childhood development (ECD) practitioners were treated to a health and wellness day by the Blue Roof Wellness Centre.

Many workshops were held by Blue Roof’s manager, Sister Tessa Beaunoir and Sister Doreen Louis, including hygiene, diabetes, managing stress, the importance of living a healthy and well-balanced life, children’s health and common health issues in the ECD sector.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to celebrate the women in the Wentworth ECD sector. It is these ECD practitioners who provide early education and raise generations of children. It is important that we also look after their well-being to ensure they are healthy to take care of our young children. This is our opportunity to acknowledge them and tell them ‘we see you, we care and appreciate each of you’,” said Sr Beaunoir.

Chairman of the Wentworth ECD Forum, Pearl Windvogel thanked the centre for the empowerment received on the day and for their continued partnership. “We are a strong supporter of partnerships and the Blue Roof‘s partnership has enabled us to become stronger and have a greater positive impact on the children.”
