If golf course closes, what happens to site?

I would urge every resident on the Bluff to make a donation towards this cause.

EDITOR – Concerning the front page article on the subject of the Bluff National Park Golf Course, you invite the public’s view of the plan to save the club.

When we read the initial and following articles, we were not unduly concerned as we have no interest in golf.

However, on reflection and discussion, we have agreed that it is ecologically vitally important for the Bluff to retain this bit of green land.

Moreover, a huge concern is if this course should be closed down, what happens to the site?

There are already vagrants that have to be cleared off every now and again. If this piece of land is left unused and uncared for, it will quickly become a squatter camp, or our government will decide to use it for 1,000 or so low cost housing units similar to the problem being experienced with the Zanzibari land in Bluff Road.

Think of the impact that would have on the Bluff’s crime rate.

I would urge every resident on the Bluff to make a donation towards this cause. If not the whole R400, which some of us just cannot afford, then whatever you can.
