Play gear to help Wentworth creches

Through Angels of Mercy and its partner, the Jabulani Project, some Wentworth ECD centres received play tent houses, puzzles and toys.

SAVE the Children has partnered with Angels of Mercy in its work directed at improving access to support for early childhood development (ECD) centres.

For over two decades, Save the Children has been actively involved with community-based ECD centres at grass-roots level to improve the quality of service delivered to young children around the province.

The KZN provincial manager of Save the Children, Mari van der Merwe said: “Improving access to support for ECD requires the engagement of partnerships. It is only through them that we can address historical imbalance.”

Through Angels of Mercy and its partner, the Jabulani Project, some Wentworth ECD centres received play tent houses, puzzles and toys. “Play is essential in promoting healthy development in children as play builds active, healthy bodies. It is a cherished part of childhood so we are delighted that both our organisations could positively contribute,” said Angels of Mercy director, Pat Bayley.

The Wentworth ECD services forum thanks Angels of Mercy and the Jabulani Project for the much-needed resources.
