‘Dream come true’ reign ends for Miss India SA KZN

Yajna is grateful for everyone who made her reign a success.

YELLOWWOOD Park beauty, Yajna Debideen’s reign as Miss India SA KZN 2013 came to a close on Saturday, 2 August, when a new queen was crowned.

During her year of reign, Yajna has been involved in numerous community projects. She was involved in an anti-drug and alcohol awareness campaign hosted by Duff Road Child Welfare Society in Phoenix, the annual Cuppa for Cansa at Poize Health and Beauty Salon and donated essential items to St Monica’s Home for children, among other projects.

Yajna showcased her talent when she danced at Farook Khan’s book launches at Cowie Road and Suncoast Casino. As an ambassador for Feed the Babies Fund, she helped raise much-needed funds and spoke as a motivational speaker at various events. She has been involved in teaching upcoming beauty queens and judged the Little Miss India SA pageant.

Her reign was not all work and no play. As part of her prize, she went on a three-week, all expenses paid trip to India. During her time-away, Yajna met the President and Prime Minister of India as well the Minister of Overseas India Affairs. She was able to enjoy the rich heritage and culture of India.

On her Facebook page, Yajna thanked everyone who was instrumental in making her reign a successful one. “The journey has been a wonderful experience. So much has been learnt and achieved from this experience and it was a true dream come true. This pageant has changed my life forever and opened the doors to many opportunities. I thank each and everyone for their support throughout this journey, especially God for showering me with his richest blessings,” she wrote.

However, this is not the end of her journey, as she will continue taking part in national and international pageants and involve herself in charity work.
