Deadline draws near for men’s nominated pairs

Doug Mitchell singles is on and all members not playing is asked to be available as markers.

WENTWORTH Bowling Club had a quiet week due to Dan Draper bowls.

The prize for the family and friends fun bowls played on Wednesday, 9 July went to Deon Els, Stan McKenzie and Anne Bonthrone.

In the men’s Friday casual bowls played on 11 July, first prize was taken by Dave Lavis and Stan McKenzie with + 17. Second prize went to Graham Bransby, Brian Deats and Dave McCann with +8. Neil Smith and Henry Welgemoed took the sportsman’s prize. Tomcat Cavanagh won the pork roast and the 60/40 board was won by Crystal Aupaiix and Tomcat Cavanagh.

Thoughts and prayers are still with Val Herbert who was discharged but is back in hospital. The club wishes her a speedy recovery.

The men’s nominated pairs draw was done and some played on Saturday. Those who still need to play, must arrange their games as these must be played by 31 July.

Doug Mitchell singles is on and all members not playing are asked to be available as markers. Draw will take place at 3.15pm, so any late entries will be taken until 1pm.

Events for the next week: On Wednesday, 16 July family and friends fun bowls is at 3pm, and new bowlers are welcome. Take flat soled shoes, as bowls are available.

On Friday, 18 July men’s casual bowls starts at 9am. On Saturday, 19 July Doug Mitchell singles is at 2pm.

The kitchen is open daily from Tuesdays until Sundays from 8am until 6pm. Breakfast, bar lunches and Sunday lunches are served. On Tuesdays at 12.30pm pensioners scones with strawberry jam and cream will be served with tea. Call Ina Davies on 082-768-4644. Big screen TV is available for all sports fanatics.
