Woodlands BC team do well in Dan Draper tourney

The meat draw went to Mitford Holder, Corrie Ormshaw and Glen de Wildt.

THERE is little to report from Woodlands Bowling Club as it was the Dan Draper tournament and the club had two teams playing.

The men’s team consisting of Bill Hewer, Norman Moore, Andy Cloete and Claude Newman started off well and were on top of the log, winning all their games.

This was until Thursday when the wheels fell off and they lost their last four games. However they did get a prize anyway.

The women’s team consisting of Gloria Rice, Rina Harper, Sonia Moore and Linda Hewer also started off well and were second on the log but unfortunately dropped to fifth place. They did win the session prize on Tuesday for highest score of the day. Well done to both teams.

Thanks to Lynn Carlyle for standing in for Linda Hewer on Monday and Thursday morning. On Wednesday morning, Bill and Linda Hewer play Norman Moore and Lynn Carlyle in the club’s nominated pairs.

On Friday the 100 club was won by Teresa Conlon. The meat draw went to Mitford Holder, Corrie Ormshaw and Glen de Wildt. The snowball is a carry over as Tracy Scott was not there to grab the winnings. The swindle went to Abie Joubert, Rob de Wildt, Bev Jenkins, Mike McFarland, Greg Berry, Cobus Janse van Vuuren, Trevor du Plessis, Keith Hughes and Dixie.

The bonus ball went to Trevor du Plessis.
