Narrow loss to DBC for Wentworth BC men’s league bowlers

The meat was won by Robin de Gouveia.

ON Wednesday, 26 March the Howes ya Fatha was played in the morning at Wentworth Bowling Club.

The first session was won by Terry Micholson and Johan Nel with a plus eight, the second session went to John Somerville and Colin Nicholas with a plus 10.

Overall winners were Jumbo Nel and Eric Miller with a four plus 21. The meat was won by Maria Cavanagh with number 32.

The 60/40 board draw first draw was won by Tom Cloete with number four and second draw was won by Jumbo Nel with number 12. Be reminded that the next Howes ya Fatha will be held on 23 April.

On Wednesday, 26 March the family and friends was won by Ina Davies and David Carroll with plus nine.

On Friday, 28 March the Friday men’s casual bowls results saw first prize go to Ken Koch, Spider and Dave Mc Cann with plus 11, while second prize was won by Graham Bransby, Tomcat Cavanagh and Dave Millar with plus six.

The biscuits went to Bill Addinall, Koot Potgieter and Ron Addinall with a minus eight. The draws were won by: Kentucky ham won by Jumbo Nel with number 48; pork won by Graham Bransby with number 75. The first 60/40 board draws went to Ron Addinall with number 63, second draw was won by Hilton Lassak with number 21. The second 60/40 board draws went to Willie Gericke with number 31 and Tom Cloete with number 16.

On Saturday, 29 March in the men’s league, the A team narrowly lost to Durban Bowling Club 4/3. The B team peeled with Umhlanga Bowling Club with two and a half points each. The next league game will take place this coming Saturday, 5 April. Check the board for selections and venues.

On Sunday, 30 Big Jim any pairs was played. First session winners were Paul White and Spider Williams 2+14, while second session went to Robert Mhlongo and Moses Noba 2+17. The overall winners were Peter Dingley and Luvoya Ndava with 4+33. The meat was won by Robin de Gouveia, whisky was won by Mouse Ratcliffe. The 60/40 board draws were won by Ina Davies first draw and Doggie Tonkin second draw. The next Big Jim will be held on Sunday, 27 April.

This coming week’s competitions are Tuesday, 1 April any pairs; Wednesday, 2 April family and friends fun bowls with a braai afterwards; Friday, 4 April men’s casual bowls; Saturday, 5 April men’s league and Sunday, 6 April tabs-in.
