Living in YWP is a privilege

The sidewalks are littered with skeletons of once glorious trees.

EDITOR – Compliments to last week’s cracker neighbour letter writer.

The festival of lights becomes ‘persecute your neighbour with mini bombs’.

The sidewalks are littered with skeletons of once glorious trees. When these delightful neighbours move in, their enthusiasm is portrayed by the humming of a chainsaw for the first week. Half-starved canines roam the street in pursuit of rubbish bins and fence fights with all the dogs in our street. The disposal of a vast amount of cardboard was made easy when it was ignited against a Yellowwood tree, nearly igniting all the trees in the street. Parties that warm up at 11pm blast out a tremendous sound that cannot be interpreted as music.

A mid-winter’s electrical copper supply cable theft got underway. Our valiant police were phoned and informed of the enterprising theft. They kindly arrived an hour later when the thieves had made their get-away.

A tranquil, beautiful YWP visited by some magical sparrow hawks is fast becoming a ghetto. Will these graceful creatures visit us again?

Please, new neighbours, look around at your new surroundings. All that you survey is not a status symbol. To live in this area is a privilege blessed of nature.
