Andy, Mouse climb on Bluff BC perch

The whiskey raffle was won by Allen Ritchie and the meat raffle was won by 'Honey' Kitchenbrand.

ANDY Andrascho and Mouse Ratcliffe knocked Clinton Bisset and Jorge Santos off the perch at Bluff Bowling Club when they won the Bell any pairs competition last weekend with a score of 4+31.

They now sit on the perch trying to capture the R1,750 up for grabs at next month’s tournament to be held on Sunday, 9 February.

The first session winners were Titch and Jean Fraser on a 2+15 while the second session was won by Ken Thomas and Wayne Tonkin on a 2+19.

The whiskey raffle was won by Allen Ritchie and the meat raffle was won by ‘Honey’ Kitchenbrand. Kurt Spack won the 50/50 board.

The club thanks the women in the kitchen for the teas and sandwiches.

The PNB men’s novice pairs began at Durban Bowling Club this past Saturday morning and unfortunately all four of the club’s entrants were eliminated in the first round. The women’s competition starts on Saturday morning, 18 January and the club hopes the girls fair better.

The club has entered six men and five women teams in the Port Natal trips. Entries have now closed so skips can check the notice board from time to time for the draw.

The Brian Osman pairs is being played on Thursday, 16 January at 9am. Call Gary Moffat on 076-680-4577 if you wish to enter but haven’t put your name on the list on the notice board.

The Lilah Nel pairs will be held on Sunday, 19 January and again contact Gary to enter.

Bluff BC wishes Spider Williams a quick return to bowls after his recent knee operation.

Alen Ritchie also has ‘kneemonia’ and is undergoing the knife this Thursday. The club wishes him well with the operation and also a quick recovery.

The club would like to take this opportunity to wish all fellow bowlers a happy and prosperous 2014.
