Online survey launched to assess water challenges

Results from this survey will pinpoint the economic impact of Durban's ongoing water challenges.

THE eThekwini Municipality’s Durban Economic Development Growth and Empowerment (Edge) initiative has announced the launch of a critical new survey aimed at evaluating the economic impact of Durban’s ongoing water challenges. In response to this, the Bluff Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association (BRRA) is appealing to the community to participate in the survey.

This important survey seeks to collect valuable insights into how current water management practices and infrastructure developments are affecting local businesses, employment and overall economic growth in the region.

With water-related issues becoming increasingly prominent, the survey is designed to capture a comprehensive picture of how these challenges are influencing the local economy.

The results will be pivotal in guiding the municipality’s strategic decisions regarding water infrastructure investments, support programmes and economic development initiatives.

The Durban Edge team emphasises the importance of broad stakeholder engagement in this process. They urge all relevant businesses, organisations and individuals to participate in the survey to ensure that diverse perspectives are considered.

The feedback from participants will help pinpoint areas where targeted interventions can have the most substantial impact, fostering long-term resilience and economic prosperity in Durban.

“We believe that understanding the economic implications of our water challenges is crucial for developing effective strategies and policies. By gathering input from a wide range of stakeholders, we can make informed decisions that support sustainable growth and improve our community’s quality of life,” read a statement from eThekwini.

The survey will remain open until September 13. To contribute your perspective, click on the link: https://forms.office.com/r/r25UTP2bcG?origin=lprLink.
