A rocking show gives New Forest High School learners a glimpse into their future
Representatives from various universities engaged with matric learners to discuss options of future career paths and tertiary education.
EXCITEMENT reverberated through the halls of New Forest High School as Grade 12 learners eagerly immersed themselves in the Rocking Future Career Expo, an event designed to kindle inspiration and offer clarity on post-matric pathways.
In collaboration with private tertiary institutions, the expo unfolded as an interactive, motivational and enjoyable affair for all attendees.

Kicking off with a thorough overview of the participating institutions, the expo provided a roadmap to the plethora of educational opportunities awaiting the learners. Engaging directly with representatives from the different universities, the learners gained valuable insights to navigate their academic and professional journeys.
A standout feature of the expo was its dynamic sessions tailored to equip learners with the decision-making tools crucial for their career trajectories. From lively ice-breaking activities to thought-provoking discussions, the event aimed to merge education with enjoyment. The inclusion of a raffle also brought an extra layer of excitement.
Reflecting on their participation, two attending prefects, Nkosinathi Isima and Shriya Lakhrai, shared their perspectives. Shriya expressed appreciation for the universities’ presentations, noting how they showed her a potential path for further study. Aspiring to delve into accounting and pursue chartered accountancy, Shriya found the expo instrumental in shaping her future endeavours.
Similarly, Nkosinathi remarked, “The in-depth insights provided by certain universities instilled in me the confidence and assurance that numerous options exist for my academic journey.” Nkosinathi aspires to pursue a career in architecture, and the expo reaffirmed his belief in the multitude of pathways available for his pursuit.
