Canned fish stolen after truck breaks down in Merebank

Sources confirmed that a large quantity of tinned fish packs were stolen from the truck's container.

IN the early hours of this morning (March 6), an unprecedented robbery occurred on Himalayas Road in Merebank when a truck carrying canned fish broke down.

The incident escalated quickly as a white Hilux and another vehicle pulled over, with their occupants armed and instructing the truck driver to remain inside the vehicle.

Dhevan Govindasamy, PT Alarms spokesperson, said, “The container door locks were broken open, and a large quantity of tinned fish packs were stolen. PT Tactical Unit’s armed response teams responded swiftly, but the suspects fled prior to their arrival.”

Govindasamy said the truck was secured by PT Alarms’ members until the trucking company management could arrive at the scene.
