Multiple schoolchildren injured in taxi crash

The injured minors were treated at the scene before being transported to hospital.

TEN schoolchildren sustained minor injuries following an accident involving a taxi transporting the learners to school in Yellowwood Park earlier today (February 26).

The accident took place around 07:30 on Kenyon Howden Road, just before the N2 bridge.

Garrith Jamieson, ALS Paramedics spokesperson, said, “Immediately more ambulances were dispatched to assist. A total of ten children had sustained minor injuries and were treated on scene before being transported to various facilities for the further care that they required.”

Jamieson said at this stage, the events leading up to the crash are unknown, but SAPS were at the scene and will be investigating.
