Indigenous plant nursery to open
On Monday, 2 December plans to open an indigenous plant nursery at Crocworld Conservation Centre near Scottburgh will finally come to fruition.
First approved in 2011, the Inzinyoni Nursery is ready to open its doors to members of the public. With its focus on indigenous species including flowers, trees, aloes, shrubs and succulents, the nursery was originally designed to facilitate the landscaping needs of the proposed new Crookes Brothers Ltd Mpambinyoni Conservation Development housing and business estate in the Renishaw area.
These plans require a substantial amount of available plant material, and will include the planting of residential gardens, the beautifying of roadsides, and the restoration of old farmland into attractive natural areas.
As well as providing the supplies needed for the Mpambanyoni Conservation Development, the nursery will feature a fully functional retail outlet, enabling members of the public to benefit from its existence and pursue their own indigenous gardening ambitions.
