The best potjie wins

There were many different types of potjies prepared, each with its unique ingredients and flavours.

FAMILIES and colleagues teamed up to tantalise the taste buds of judges during the Bluff Athletic Club family fun day potjie competition, held at the Fynnlands Sports Club, recently.

Evelyn Mommen, Emilio Hartze, Basil Kok and eZekiel Hartze.

Competitors, made up of families and workmates, prepared their own variations of the traditional South African dish, which is usually cooked outdoors in a round cast-iron pot.

The Human family team: Suzanne, Daniel, Ethan and Daniel Human.

Judges were spoiled for choice with a diverse array of potjie variations and had a tough choice deciding on the winning pot as delectable aromas filled the air.

Bollywood Barbies: Marizka Erasmus, Tramaine Naidoo, Valarie Naidoo and Nicky van der Westhuizen.

The Chas Everett Bluff team was thrilled to take home the win, with runners-up Bollywood Barbies vowing to take the winning spot next year.
