Help spread warmth, this winter

The initiative is aimed at making the colder months more comfortable for residents who cannot afford warm blankets.

WENTWORTH Angels will host a winter warmth drive in honour of Mandela Day on July 18.

Residents are urged to get involved in the initiative, to make the colder months more comfortable for residents who cannot afford warm blankets.

Founder of the organisation, Tracey Williams, who are based in the Merewent area, said she hopes to make Mandela Day a memorable one for underprivileged residents this year.

“We are looking for sponsors so that we can reach as many people as possible. We will also provide hot meals on the day.

“For many years we have been involved in clean-up campaigns to commemorate Mandela Day, but this year we felt the need to warm the lives of those who are less fortunate and provide them with blankets,” Williams added.
