Business owner pistol-whipped, stabbed and robbed

After stabbing the business owner with a pair of scissors, the suspects grabbed cigarettes and cash and fled in an unknown direction.

A BUSINESS owner is lucky to have survived a violent robbery after he was stabbed and pistol-whipped by a gang of armed robbers who stormed into his store in Teakwood Road, in Jacobs, earlier today.

According to the spokesperson for PT Alarms Tactical Unit members and PT Ambulance Service, Dhevan Govindsamy, the gang fled with cash and cigarettes.

“A PT Alarms client alerted the company to the crime in progress and requested assistance.

“It is alleged that about six or more suspects entered the store with firearms, pistol-whipped the owner and stabbed him on his body and hands with a pair of scissors when he attempted to fend them off.

“The suspects grabbed cigarettes and a large amount of cash and fled in an unknown direction. PT Tactical Unit members conducted a search, but no arrests were made.

“The injured victim was treated at the scene. PT Alarms urges business owners to advise staff to watch out for suspicious persons and strange vehicles and to have security measures in place for safety,” said Govindsamy.
