A pin-point operation by the Economic Infrastructure and Tracking Task Team (EITT) led to the arrest of three suspects after they were found to be in illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and drugs at a house in Montclair on Tuesday, January 17.
Colonel Robert Netshiunda, a provincial police spokesperson for the team, was acting on intelligence information when they cornered the suspects at the house.
He said one of the suspects (32)  was found in possession of 34 rounds of ammunition and a substance suspected to be rock cocaine.
A second suspect (34) was found to be in illegal possession of a firearm with the serial number filed off, as well as ammunition.
The third suspect (28) was also nabbed for being in illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Netshiunda said subsequent investigations led to the recovery of rock cocaine which was left abandoned at nearby premises.
