WATCH: DA assesses infrastructure concerns on the Bluff

NATIONAL and provincial members of the Democratic Alliance (DA) conducted oversight inspections to assess damages of various municipal infrastructures in eThekwini on Thursday.

One of the places visited was a distribution substation on Lighthouse Road on the Bluff that was vandalised recently.

The building houses about 100 substation connections.

In a statement, the DA said that the eThekwini Municipality has failed to protect its infrastructure from theft and vandalism.

“As a result, the municipality incurs millions of rands in losses from damaged and stolen infrastructure.”
