Vulnerable women invited to free shopping experience

The Sunshine Shopping experience allows vulnerable women to shop for second-hand items at no cost.

VULNERABLE women who need a helping hand due to feeling the cold bite of the high cost of living are invited to the Ward 66 Sunshine Shopping initiative. Hosted by the ward’s vulnerable groups’ sub-committee, the Sunshine Shopping experience allows vulnerable women to shop for second-hand items at no cost. Ward 66 councillor Zoe Solomon said the initiative is exclusively for those who really need it.
“We are proud as a community to be able to bring this sort of comfort to women, especially since it is Women’s Month. Sunshine Shopping is where vulnerable women are able to shop for a few second-hand items, at no cost to them. This is for those women who really just need a helping hand. Those who are visiting the shop for clothing items must bring along a bag or packet for your items. This is to encourage the women to reuse, recycle and look after the environment. We hope that Sunshine Shopping will spread some light in the darkness and warmth in their hearts,” said Solomon.
The Sunshine Shopping initiative will be held on Saturday, August 13, from 09:00 to 10:30, next to the outdoor gym on Lighthouse Road, Bluff.
