More volunteers are encouraged to join or donate their services. The Love the Bluff volunteers appeal to residents to bring spades, brush cutters, and pangas to help clean the staircase at Highnett Road and will finish at Garcin Place.

The stairs were last cleaned two years ago. Slabbert appeals to households to donate to the organisation, to make the Bluff beautiful again.

“I started ‘Love the Bluff’ initiative to get the community to volunteer to clean up the area. The goal is to eventually have the equipment, such as brush cutters, and gardening tools, and then raise funds to pay unemployed people to clean up the suburb. I have two goals; to create work for the unemployed and to clean the Bluff. If every household could contribute just R20 a month, we can have a beautiful looking area again,” said Slabbert.

This event will take place on March 5, at 08:00. Plastic bags will be provided. For more information contact, Wesley Slabbert at 083 648 7043 or email wezslabs1@gmail.com.
