Friday, March 4

The Rhumbelow Theatre in Umbilo will screen Mick Fleetwood and Friends on Friday, March 4 at 19:00. The  film celebrates the music of Peter Green and the early years of Fleetwood Mac. It was filmed at The London Palladium in February 2020. The venue opens 60 minutes before the show for snacks and drinks. The film’s running time is 2 hr 20 min, excluding 20 minute interval. Saturday, March 5

Fulton School for the Deaf will host a family fun day on Saturday, March 5 from 09:00 to 17:00. The event will take place at Fulton School for the Deaf field in 8 Roosevelt Road, Clifton Park, Gillitts. There will be a variety of food stalls and refreshments for sale. There will be fun activities such jumping castles, slip ‘n slides, zorb balls, toddler play area and face painting. The event is sponsored by Rainbow Inflatables. All proceeds will be going towards the advancement of education for deaf learners. Contact secretary@fultonschool.co.za.

The Port Natal Citadel is hosting a R50 market on Saturday, March 5 where all items on sale will be priced under R50. There is a R5 entry fee per person and all proceeds support local NGO,  iThemba Lethu. Items on sale include homemade gifts and packaging, dinky Barbie clothes, cupcakes, hair scrunchies, jewelry, decals and posters, plants, preloved books, CD’s and trinkets. The Durban Art Gallery recently launched a new exhibition entitled, #OverMyDeadBody. It exhibition features 50 Sunlight soap sculptures of the mouths of the silenced women, an audiovisual performance and domestic items that refer to intimacy, sexuality and violence. The gallery is located on the second floor at Durban City Hall on Anton Lembede Street in central Durban. The exhibition runs until the end of May.The gallery is open from 09:00 to 15:30 during the week, and 09:h00 to 12:00 on Saturdays. Contact the gallery: 031 311 2264/9.

Sunday, March 6

  • The Rhumbelow Theatre in Umbilo will screen, Back Together on Sunday, March 6 at 14:00. The filmed concert features Michael Ball and Alfie Boe. The venue opens 90 minutes before the show for snacks and drinks. The film’s running time is 147 min, excluding a 20 minute interval.
