VIDEO & PICS: Fire breaks out at Jacobs factory

The factory is believed to manufacture resin.

A FIRE broke out in a factory on Balfour Road, Jacobs earlier this morning.

According to Emer-G-Med spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen, emergency services responded to the scene and the fire was contained shortly after.

“No injuries were reported. The factory is believed to manufacture resin and the cause of the fire is unknown,” he said.

According to a resident, Joanne Groom, the aftermath of the fire lingers in the air as some residents have complained about the smell.

The legal manager of a neighbouring factory, Raoul Kissun, said parts of Balfour and Chamberlain roads are cordoned off as a precautionary measure.

The relevant authorities were on the scene and will be investigating the cause of the fire.
