City implements eServices platform for utility bill convenience

eServices is a self-service facility that the municipality offers to individuals, managing agents, companies, and organisations.

IN efforts of going green, eThekwini Municipality sends utility bills electronically.

This service, it said, is part of the city’s different ways to simplify the process of receiving bills for residents.

The spokesperson for the municipality, Msawakhe Mayisela, said mailing bills, as seen in the past, can be affected by a number of incidents that are beyond anyone’s control.

“We, therefore, encourage residents to register online on eServices for their bills. The bill is also emailed to the resident on a monthly basis. This offers a full breakdown of services, the amounts as well as readings that occurred,” he said.

Registering on the eServices can be done on the city’s website. Once completed, an activation email is then sent back.

eServices offers up-to-date account information, delivery of accounts by email, copies of previous accounts and an added feature coming soon is the residential rates rebate option.
