Bayview Sports Club chairman and coach, Mario Labuschagne said that the club was in the process of planning a tournament, as they have to ensure that they abide by all Covid-19 rules and regulations.

“The soccer season is set to start the second week of April after Easter weekend,” he said. In keeping with protocols, it is essential for players and coaches to wear masks when going to the grounds. “They first make their way to the hall area, where they are sanitised and have their temperature checked and documented. A Covid-19 questionnaire is filled out and register completed. Thereafter they proceed to training grounds, where masks can be removed once training commences. No parents are allowed on the training grounds. All players and coaches to carry their own water bottles.

“Grounds are split into specific areas of age groups. Once training is completed for the day, masks must be put back on and hands must be sanitised once more. Everybody then has to vacate the grounds,” said Labuschagne.
