Yellowwood Park copper thieves to appear in court
Police officers from Provincial Trio and Vehicle Task Team as well as K9 Unit carried out the operation on Monday, 1 March after information was received about thieves who were stealing copper cables.

THREE suspects appeared in court on Wednesday, 3 March after they were found in possession of of 120 meters of copper cable in Yellowwood Park.
Police officers from Provincial Trio and Vehicle Task Team as well as K9 Unit carried out the operation on Monday, 1 March after information was received about thieves who were stealing copper cables. The team proceeded to Yellowwood Park where three suspects were spotted walking along the track. A chase ensued and three men aged between 23 and 24 were placed under arrest.
The estimated street value of the recovered copper cable is R55 000. The copper cable was positively identified by Prasa. The suspects will appear before the Durban Magistrates Court on charges of tampering and destroying essential infrastructure.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner for KwaZulu-Natal, Major General Thulani Gonya congratulated all involved in the arrest of the suspects and for continuing with the fight against copper thieves.
