Merebank family spreads hope and love

The Padayachee's treated the residents of the Merewent Cheshire Home to a special party recently.

THE Padayachee’s hosted a special thanksgiving party in honour of their daughter and sister Brenda.

Brenda, 47, is diagnosed with cerebral palsy and has been a special needs patient all her life. Although she cannot walk or talk, she has lived a life that inspires many despite the odds.

To celebrate the day, the Merebank family invited some residents from the Merewent Cheshire Home, who also have various special needs conditions, for a day of good food and lots of fun.

“We wanted to give her a special party while also giving back to the community, especially to those with special needs. We brought in residents from the Merewent Cheshire Home to celebrate with us because they deserve to have a good time especially after being restricted within the home throughout lockdown with no exposure to the outside world. This was also a new and different experience for Brenda as well as served as a day of social fun for those with special needs, who rarely get such an opportunity,” said family spokesperson, Neil Pather.

Merewent Cheshire Home caregiver, Allison Alexander said all 27 of the home’s residents who were in attendance enjoyed the day and extended their thanks to the family.
