Wentworth Angels appeal for Christmas lunch sponsorship

The group will host 50 children and 20 pensioners from the area.

WITH just a few weeks to go, the Christmas countdown has officially begun. To ensure a smooth run for their esteemed guests at their annual gathering, the Wentworth Angels appeal to the community for a helping hand with sponsorship.

“We have officially set the date for Saturday, 19 December for our annual Christmas party. We are keeping the numbers minimal this year due to Covid-19 regulations,” said founder, Tracey Williams.

“It will be 50 children and 20 pensioners. For the children, we do the adopt-a-child initiative where a child gets two outfits, shoes, and some toiletries. We require assistance towards the meals, beverages, dessert and grocery hampers for the pensioners,” added Williams.

The menu for the day includes pasta and mince for the children and chicken-ala king and rice with salad for pensioners. Guests will also get dessert and party packs.

“I will update the adopt-a-child initiative details on Wentworth Angels Facebook page,” she added.
