PeacePlayers SA brings you 12 hours of nonstop action

The exciting sports event falls on National Recreation Day, Friday 2 October and will be streamed live on Facebook.

PEACEPLAYERS South Africa, in partnership with the Department of Sport and Recreation and Sport for Social Change Network, will host a 12-hours nonstop virtual physical activity event for the communities of Durban South.

The exciting sports event falls on National Recreation Day, Friday 2 October and will be streamed live on the organisation’s social media from 3pm and held under Covid-19 restrictions at Cwebezela Primary school in uMlazi.

“On 12 December 2014, the department of sport declared an annual recreation day on the first Friday of October. By declaring this one day on the South African calendar as National Recreation Day, it is expected that all South Africans will be made aware of the need to become physically active and that they will dedicate some part of their day towards participating in physical activities of their choice intended to promote life-long wellness. This year we will be one of nine organisations from nine provinces representing KZN,” said Nasiphi Khafu, Executive Director of PeacePlayers SA.

PeacePlayers is a conflict resolution through sport organisation that facilitates life skills through basketball in primary and high schools throughout the Durban area in the City, Lamontville, Wentworth, uMlazi, Cottonlands and Molweni.
