Wanderers league takes a break

The league takes a break until Saturday, 21 March, as the men’s and women’s inter districts take place from 9 to 13 March.

The continuation of the men’s inter-club league took place on Saturday, 29 February, at Durban Wanderers Club.

The A side entertained Lahee Park and picked up six and a half to 10.5. The second side traveled to a wet Lahee Park and did not perform well in the wet and heavy conditions, picking up only one point to their opponents 16. The C side battled with local rivals, Woodlands and although they lost both games by a handful of points, they only managed to pick up two points to 10.

The league takes a break until Saturday, 21 March, as the men’s and women’s inter districts take place from 9 to 13 March. Club members are reminded that their section and main club fees are due.

Friday’s various meat pack winners were: lamb pack – Mitty Chelin, beef – Leon Haupfleisch, pork roast – Mandla Gumede, rump steak – Mitty Chelin, chicken pack – Rob Philogene, chicken – Debbie Rojas.

The R600 snowball was a carry-over as Derrick Atkinson was not in attendance.
The Friday lotto of R80 was a carry-over as no one guessed the three numbers drawn.

The club’s function rooms – tavern, upstairs and downstairs are now fully renovated and available for hire.

The two squash courts also have some un-allocated time slots for members and non-members. Contact the club on 031-462-2320 or pop-in for further enquiries.
