Great potential displayed at school cricket game

Both teams displayed great potential at this Tuesday afternoon game.

PICKING UP from last year’s rained out fixture, Yellowwood Park Primary School (YPPS) hosted Van Riebeeck Park Primary School (VRPPS) in a cricket match on Tuesday, 18 February. The much-anticipated playing was almost a grudge match as a result of waiting so long to prove which school’s cricketing is better.

Luke Bhika of YPPS proved that dynamite does indeed come in small packages with his display of good discipline and accurate bowling with his teammates backing up his efforts showing good composure as they chased down the total in 9 overs without losing a single wicket.

Man of the match went to Grade 3 learner, Luke, for his 2 wickets and 30 runs not out. At just eight-years-old, he plays for the U13.
