Sanitary towels provide schoolgirls with dignity

The Women’s Network donated 600 sanitary pads to Grosvenor Girls' High School, Durban Academy High, and Kenmont School.

BEYOND captain Louise le Roux’s call of duty is where her passion can be found, and as such, her caring hands have reached out and touched the lives of many within her jurisdiction.

Her most recent project, called My Dignity, in collaboration with the Brighton Beach Women’s Network, was initiated on Monday, 20 January, where the focus was on the schoolgirl child.

“It is important that the schoolgirl feels comfortable and confident when on her menstrual cycle while attending school. This is but a humble gesture, and I am thankful for being able to make this outreach initiative a reality. I know for the recipients of these sanitary pads the gift of dignity will be assured, which is priceless,” said Brighton Beach’s Corporate Communications Officer Captain Louise le Roux.
