Husband and wife duo scoop the John Dory spoils at Bluff Bowling Club

This coming Friday, 25 October, sees the Gee-Jays entertain

The Grand Rapid Spur any pairs competition was played on Sunday morning, 20 October, which produced a count out finish.

The games started at 9am as to make sure the players would not miss the Springbok Rugby World Cup match. In the end both June Foster/ Dudley Dorrofield and Denzel Venter/ Anne Bonthrone finished tied on a 4+3 with Denzel and Anne winning on a count out with June and Dudley taking second prize. The first session was won by Lilah Nel and Ronel Morel on a 2+7 while the second session was won by Simon Garland and Spider Williams on a massive 2+24.

On Friday night, 18 October, the joker draw was not won and the pool now stands at R1 290. Clinton Bisset’s tab was drawn, but unfortunately he was not present and forfeited the prize. There were no winning ticket in the lotto draw and this pool now stands at R905.

Bridget White was playing in the semi-finals of the PNB open singles this past Sunday, but the scribe did not have any news on her progress at the time of going to print.

This coming Friday, 25 October, sees the Gee-Jays entertain the members in a women’s annual tournament fundraiser so if you haven’t booked a ticket, see Allen Ritchie or Steve Larkin to obtain one. It is with deepest regret that the club has announced the passing of Honey Kitchenbrand. Deepest condolences to all concerned.

There will be a tabs always in ceremony at 2pm on Sunday, 27 October. Members and friends are asked to attend.

Members are also asked to keep Yvonne Johnston in their prayers as she recovers in hospital.
