Ward 68 karate team chops district competition

Coach Carl Webster said the wins were reflective of the amount of training put in.

THE ward 68 karate team did exceptionally well on chopping its opponents at the eThekwini Games recently. The six youngsters advanced to the next level of the competition to the Salga Games, raising the Wentworth flag high and doing their coach and instructor, Carl Webster, proud.
“The eThekwini Games were a culmination of games that started at ward level then district and finally finals. I was very proud of the performance of the team and this was due to the many hours of preparation that was put in. The team is now looking forward the next step in the process which is the Salga Games,” said Carl.
Ward 68 karate team consists of Nicarla Victor, Rochelle Fowler, Paige Firmin, Christopher Moolman, Alrazzio Hoorzuk and Blaize Randall who all secured their spots with victory at the finals.
“All did exceptionally well and they were awarded a certificate of excellence,” said ward 68 executive secretary of the war room and deputy chairman of the Wentworth Sports Confederation, Neil Axford.

Nicarla Victor, Rochelle Fowler, Christopher Moolman and Blaize Randall are some of the ward 68 karate team members.
