Neighbouring schools take part in Alipore Primary netball tourney

The hosting school won in the U12 division but lost in the U13 division.

SIX schools participated in the Merebank ward closing netball tournament in Merebank on Thursday, 29 August.
Assegai, Austerville, Parsee Rustomjee, Wentworth, and Durban East Primary Schools’ U12 and U13 divisions were hosted at Alipore Primary School’s netball court for the knockout tournament.

Alipore Primary beat Assegai 3-1 in the U12 division, but Assegai won the U13 division 8-0 against Alipore Primary.
“Thanks to all participating school teams and educators, Carl Webster for sponsoring the medals and trophies, the school governing body chairperson, Lennie Munsamy, for sponsoring meals to teachers and officials, and umpires Phumzile Maci and Zandile Bhengu,” said tournament coordinator and host, Faith Sannasi, who is also the chairperson of the Merebank ward school netball committee.
