“The 11 selected disadvantaged youth took on the task of raising the money without any support from government or businesses that were approached to assist in this great initiative. Even though it’s the 11th hour we are still pushing for the youth to get there and give them this opportunity,” said group director, Jarryd Watson.

Just a week left to go before departure on Monday, 19 August, Jarryd said daunting fundraising process has not dampened the group’s spirit as they continue with their fundraising drives.

“With so many recent social ills and bad narratives emerging from the Wentworth community in the past couple of weeks, this initiative
offers an alternative inspiration and that good can come out of the community,” he added.

The group will represent South Africa at the UK based championships amount needed will cover the groups’ accommodation, food, transport and transfers within their intended destination.

“Kid’s Rock Entertainment is on board to help raise the shortfall of the funds and Dance Movement dancers will also be seen in the communities busking at robots and we urge the community to come on board by sparing any change to support us,” said Jarryd.
