Fun group meeting at Stainbank Women’s Institute

The tea members for August are Koula Tsouris, Anne Barnard and Des Cousins.

A big welcome to all members of the institutes in the area from the club’s president, Arlene Greenfield particularly to their executive member, Sharon Quail, who has just returned from the executive meeting.

After the singing of unity, it was time for apologies and correspondence from Pathways, a special school they hope to visit very soon. It was very sad to receive a resignation from long standing member, Maureen du Plessis. Maureen has been a part of the club for 51 years and always assisted in every way she could. The club’s birthday party, as usual, was great fun and once again very good to see all their long lost members and the karaoke queens again in full voice. Take note of the congress competitions in the magazine this month. Try and enter the club’s charity this month for St Eths Feeding Scheme, next month it will be their very own residential home in Richmond, the Evelyn House.

After tea it was time for the musical fellows from Shanley’s Funeral Parlour. Just two or three notes of a tune was played, but many members knew the answer. What great fun they had and everyone went away with a prize.

The raffle and swindle were then drawn and the president said the closing prayer. Go safe to all members. The tea members for August are Koula Tsouris, Anne Barnard and Des Cousins.
