SATURDAY, 29 JUNE: The Bluff Eco Park hosts a craft market every Saturday from 7am to 1pm. Entry is free and there is a tea garden where one can indulge the tasty snacks and refreshments. Children can enjoy a ride on the train. For more information, call Allan on 073-345-4622.

SATURDAY, 29 JUNE: Clairwood Roots Reunion Committee will host its fifth year celebration, ‘The last of the big bash’ at the Clairwood High School grounds from noon until late. Live bands will entertain the crowd, spectacular fireworks on display and the living legends award is open to all former Clairwood residents from age 75 years and older. You are required to register at the information desk on the day to qualify for this prestigious award and gift. Entry is free, bring along your picnic basket or enjoy a braai. SATURDAY, 29 JUNE: Sodurba hosts the 2019 Welcoming of the Whales Festival at Foreshore Drive, Bluff from 9am to 4pm. This is a fun event for the whole family with free entry.

SUNDAY, 30 JUNE: Every Sunday, the Visually Impaired Bowlers Association has its weekly bowling afternoon at Berea Bowling Club in Durban from 1pm to 4pm. Blind and partially sighted people, who are prepared to join this association, can look forward to an afternoon of fun and fellowship playing bowls. TUESDAY, 2 JULY: Stainbank Women’s Institute hosts the fun group meeting at the Woodlands Bowling Club from 9.30am. All institutes in the area are welcome to join in for a fun morning. Members are reminded of the July competitions, bring your goods to the meeting.

SUNDAY, 7 JULY: The 10th annual Scottburgh Classic Car Show will be held at the Scottburgh High School. The show is a nostalgic journey back in time among magnificent classic cars and bikes. Entrance is R40 per person and R20 for pensioners and scholars. Call Peter Fielding on 039-976-1995.

THURSDAY, 11 JULY: The South African Military History Society will hold its monthly meeting at the Natal Mounted Rifles head quarters, Walter Gilbert Road, at 7pm for 7.30pm. The first talk, the DDH, will be ‘the mary rose’, to be presented by guest speaker, Mike Jackson. The main talk will be presented by Roy Bowman, who will tell the KZN branch about ‘liberty ships of World War II’. Entrance is free and visitors are welcome.
