#DurbanFloods: CROW left flooded by storm damage

CROW staff were busy assessing the storm damage and moving animals out of enclosures that had become flooded.

IT was a whirlwind of activity at the Centre for Rehabilitaion of Wildlife (CROW) in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 23 April), following the damage caused by the heavy rains that hit Durban this weekend.

CROW staff were busy assessing the storm damage and moving animals out of enclosures that had become flooded. “All the animals in our care are safe and all our staff are working tirelessly to ensure that each animal is cared for and that they are kept warm and dry. This includes the vast numbers of animals being admitted due to being grounded or injured during the storm last night,” said CROW’s communication officer Lana Bartholomew.

CROW welcomes donations of much-needed essential items such as towels, blankets, heating pads and external wooden doors, which may be dropped off at the centre (15a Coedmore Ave, Yellowwood Park).
