Delight follows Mowat Park ace pupils’ six As

Thandinkosi Kheswa has been conditionally accepted to study at the University of Stellenbosch

Mowat Park High School’s top matriculant for 2018, Thandinkosi Kheswa was in utter disbelief after she obtained six distinctions in her final school result.

“I still can’t believe how well I did, considering I faced personal challenges trying to stay afloat when pressure from family, friends and peers peaked. I’m considering getting my one result remarked, just to see if I can secure that seventh distinction,” she said, humbly.

Khewsa has been conditionally accepted to study at the University of Stellenbosch. She aims to maintain her drive and determination as she embarks on what has been a childhood dream – to be a doctor who is passionate about healing those in need.

The school received 108 subject distinctions and with a matric pass rate of 86%, Mowat Park High School principal Nkosinathi Tsaulwayo said although the school could have performed better overall, he is very proud of those who passed and achieved good results. He added that he is willing to go the extra mile to provide support to those who wish to upgrade their marks.

Tsaulwayo advises the class of 2019 to stick to the basics by following the simple instructions given by teachers and to never lose focus or succumb to procrastination as the year goes by. “In 2019 we aim to keep our learners inspired throughout the year, ensuring they don’t drop the ball,” he said.
