I challenge Bluff businesses, schools and residents to help me meet my goal

A CHALLENGE has been issued by enthusiastic Bluff resident, Rukshana Salie who aims to collect 10,000 litres of water in aid of the Cape Town water crisis.
She has successfully roped in a few Bluff schools, including Glenardle Primary, Dirkie Uys, Saraty Educare Centre and Marlborough Park Junior Primary which is not only collecting water but also housing the five-litre bottles that Salie has already collected.

Recognising the plight of her Capetonian family members set the ball in motion for Salie to do her bit to help. She said her father has told her about how bad it really is in Cape Town. “I can’t just sit back and watch not just my family, but millions of Capetonians suffer while I have the privilege of water running in my taps. I challenge Bluff businesses, schools and residents to help me meet my goal of 10,00 litres and become part of the solution,” she said.

Bluff resident, Rukshana Salie and Malborough Park Junior Primary School teacher, Claire Thornhill challenge Bluff to help them reach 10,000 litres by Friday.

She also urged communities to save water and out of respect for Cape Town’s situation, to not waste this vital resource unnecessarily. “It is a precious resource and one day we might be wear the same shoes as cape Town, so start now and preserve what we have before it’s too late,” she added. The water donations will be delivered to Cape Town through the Gift of the Givers Foundation.
