Do you know an ultracrepidarian?

Today's word is perfect for your 'know-it-all' friend.

WITH this age of social media and expression, everyone has an opinion about everything and this week’s #SLSWednesdayWord is perfect for that.

How often do you lose your mind when you see someone spewing nonsense online about a subject they clearly have no knowledge of? Weekly? Daily? I’m sure we have all seen ultracrepidarian people on our social feeds.

Ultracrepidarian describes a person who judges or speaks about something that is beyond their level of understanding or proficiency.

Its first recorded use was in letter by William Hazlitt to William Gifford, the editor of the Quarterly Review in 1819 in which said: “You have been well called an ultracrepidarian critic”.
