Five injured in M4 taxi collision

The road was blocked as paramedics worked.

THERE was chaos on M4 highway this morning, when three taxis collided.

Five people were injured in the collision, which happened at about 6am on the southbound roadway near the M7 off-ramp.

Rescue Care paramedics attended the scene. “Five people sustained minor injuries and were stabilised before being transported to various Durban hospitals. Traffic was severely affected as the two right lanes were obstructed while emergency personnel worked to clear the scene.

“The cause of the collision is unknown, however it is believed a taxi had broken down and the two taxis collided with it. SAPS were on the scene and will investigate further,” said Rescue Care operations manager, Ceron Lennox.
