Finally – weed sprayers back on Bluff roads

JP Prinsloo will be monitoring the situation going forward.

WEED spraying is back on the cards in ward 66, after nearly a year of neglect.

“A meeting was held with the weed spraying co-op team on 27 March to discuss the current state of the Bluff. A list of the 50 most affected streets within the ward has been identified which will be tackled by the spraying team first.

Once these 50 roads have been completed, the team will start spraying the remainder of the roads,” said ward 66 councillor, JP Prinsloo.

“The team consists of 12 workers. Every Friday a road schedule will be submitted to the parks department and myself to determine which roads have been sprayed and which roads still require work.

These lists will be made available to the public in order to do quality checks of the completed work. If the work is not completed to a satisfactory standard, the team will redo the road to ensure that all weeds have been sprayed.

After months of hard work and liaising with the department to remove all of these weeds, I can finally say we are moving in the right direction. Working together as a community, we can all make a difference and create a suburb we are all proud of.”
