Councillor office needs furnishings

New office will be a centre of activities for the area.

WARD 66 councillor, JP Prinsloo is setting up shop on Old Mission Road to allow for community members to meet, engage and plan with him.

The ward office located off Old Mission Road, behind and on the land owned by the NG Kerk, will be a facility for ward and community meetings, according to the councillor.

“I plan to have the youth desk based here and hope for the community to use this building as a base for support groups and community meetings. In lieu of a community hall, this place will serve as a space for everyone. I hope to create a space for people to work from,” said Prinsloo.

He will also have his office based there for community members to contact him during office hours for whatever they require.

Donations are needed to furnish the building. Items such as a printer, table and chairs will be appreciated.

“While the municipality pays for rent, we need to rely on assistance for the furnishings. All the furniture donated will belong to centre, not me and when another councillor takes office, the furniture will pass on to them for use by the community.”

Once all the infrastructure is in place, there will be an official opening. Anyone interested in assisting, getting involved or donating should call Cllr Prinsloo on 083-406-2525.
